JHL Violins, LLC provides restoration and repair services to both retail and trade clients. As a service to musicians, we also offer insurance appraisals, consultation, and sales of select instruments and bows. Current clients include major U.S. dealers, instrument lending foundations, university professors, professional and amateur musicians, and serious students.

Jerry Lynn has over two decades of industry experience gained by working in a busy retail shop planning and executing restorations, sales, tonal adjustments, and expertise. Working alongside skilled restorers John Panaccio, John Lantz, and Rick Riggall, his experience was supplemented by regular attendance to the VSA Oberlin Violin Restoration Workshop (Now called the American Lutherie Institute Restoration Workshop) where Jerry currently serves as Co-Director.  Jerry has given lectures at the 2013 and 2020 VSA Conventions, as well as presented talks to the MVA and the AFVBM.  The most recent of these focusing on the use of digital fabrication tools in violin restoration.  Since 2019, Jerry has been a co-host of the lutherie podcast, Omo, which deals with the romance and reality of violin making.
